COWAN CENTER

EAST TEXAS SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

TYLER CIVIC BALLET
Under the direction of Kym Lanier, the corps de ballet includes a Junior Company of students 10-12 years old and a Senior Company, ages 13 and up. The Ballet performs a Spring Concert and many of the dancers perform in TJC's production of The Nutcracker each December. The repetoire includes classical favorites as well as contemporary works. TYLER CIVIC CHORALE

TYLER CIVIC THEATER CENTER
.Located in the Rose City Complex, the theater opened in 1951 as the first theater in America to be designed and built for the production of theater-in-the-round. Now in a new building completed in the summer of

TYLER MUSEUM OF ART
Three galleries feature a growing permanent collection

BONNER-WHITAKER-McCLENDON HOUSE
806 W. Houston. One of the finest examples of Eastlake Bracketed Victorian architecture remaining in Texas. The home was built in the late 1870s and designed to use coal gas for both light and heat. Many of the original light fixtures remain as does much of the furniture. Open weekends during the Azalea and Spring Flower Trail and Texas Rose Festival. CAMP FORD
What was previously a historical marker on Hwy. 271
North, is now under construction to simulate the largest prisoner of war compound which was used for union troops west of the Mississippi. You'll soon be able to walk the same path as many prisoners and witness several shelters. Call 903-592-5993.

SMITH COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY MUSEUM AND ARCHIVES

CHARNWOOD & AZALEA HISTORIC DISTRICTS
These residential historic districts include a variety of large and small late 19th and early 2oth century resi dences. The district's visual and historical focal points are Charnwood, Chilton and College Streets where expansive architect designed residences built for Tyler's elite are clustered. HISTORIC AVIATION MEMORIAL MUSEUM
